Thursday 2 July, 7.00pm All Saints’ Church, Netherthong FREE
The pace of modern life is hectic. We dash from one activity to another fitting in as much as we possibly can. However, people are recognising that this is not a healthy way to live life. When do we get a chance to stop, be quiet, take stock and reflect? Where is there room for God? Be Still is forty minutes of quiet, gently exploring some ancient Christian practices which many believe can help. You are invited to be still, let go and find a peace only God can give.
God in the Great Outdoors
Saturday 27 June, 2.00 - 4.00pm Holme Styes Reservoir:
meet at the top of Clough Foot Lane (on the bend between Cote Lane and Greave Road) FREE
Meeting together in God’s presence usually involves a building of some kind, but what happens when we try to engage with God in the open air? If we believe that God is revealed in nature and creation, is it possible to move church outside? God in the Great Outdoors invites you to take a walk in the local countryside and stop at various points in order to reflect on how we can relate to God, who is present to us in wind, sun and rain, as well as trees, plants and creatures. Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing. The route will be mainly on flat and well-trodden paths, but it could involve a few steep climbs and mud underfoot.
Wednesday 1 July, 12 noon Meet at All Saints’ Church, Netherthong FREE
A second opportunity in the Festival of Faith to experience God in the outdoors, this time walking in Netherthong, but stopping on the way for moments of sharing and reflection. Please bring a packed lunch.
